About Hot Yo

Hot Yo takes an urban outlook on the ancient practice of yoga. Our vision is to make yoga relevant and accessible to the next generation of YOgis. We believe yoga is for everybody and it is our mission to help our members lead a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

The way in which we practice yoga is in inclusive and non-judgmental environment that is community-oriented hence from beginners to avid yogis, we have classes to suit every level.

We combine yoga and heat so most of our classes are hot like 38°C/100°F hot! The heat is extremely good for you to find out more, click ‘Benefits of Hot Yoga’. The best way to know is to give it a go so Sign-Up for your free trial today

Weight Loss

Holding poses in intense heat builds deep muscle tissues, which in time burn stored fat. It also stimulates your body’s metabolism so you continue to burn calories even outside the hot room.

Muscle Tone

If you are already well-built, yoga will help stretch out those dense and defined muscles. If you are looking to get into shape, yoga uses your own body weight to help build a lean and toned muscle mass.

Yoga helps to calm and center the mind, resulting in greater focus and clarity of thought. With regular practice, you will learn to pay attention to your breathing, which will help you stay calm at stressful moments.

Yo is equipped with radiant infrared heaters (the same as that used in a baby’s incubator).

Show up to any class and you will get the hot yoga experience that our studio has built its reputation on.

Click Facilities to check out our gadgets and facilities.

Infrared Radiant Heat Panels
Our radiant heating panels are safer and healthier than traditional convection heaters. They do not rely on fossil fuels, blow dust or allergens around, or make any noise.

Natural Air Ventilation
Our ventilation system ensures fresh air is pumped into the studio so that you get the maximum amount of oxygen with each inhalation.

Probiotic Cleaning Agent
Our yoga mats are wiped down using the micro-flora of bacteria, which are found in our stomachs. These are good bacteria and are 100% organic and non-toxic

Other Facilities

We provide free eco-friendly yoga mats; free towels, showers and changing rooms with lockers, as well as free filtered drinking water.

This Yin Yoga teacher training is a comprehensive training programme, designed for teachers and practitioners interested in understanding the anatomic and energetic theories of yin yoga. This training will unpack the theoretical aspects of the practice, whilst also covering the practical aspects of how to teach.

To support the theoretical lectures and discussions, interactive posture labs will be provided, offering students the opportunity to learn through the practice of applied anatomy. Structured teaching labs will also be incorporated, allowing students to apply the principles of functional anatomy and modern meridian theory into how to actually teach a class.

Graduates of this Yin Yoga teacher training will not only understand the various theories behind this beautiful practice but will also leave with the necessary skills to sequence and teach a thoughtful and competent yin yoga class.

Got some burning questions? Here are the answers to some of your questions we thought you might ask:

          Helicopter Pilot

First off, a very warm welcome to you!

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your first class so we can get you signed up and settled in. Please bear in mind that strictly nobody will be allowed entry into the class once it has started; we really mean that.

We recommend the Slo or Grow-Pro classes to get you started. If you think you have what it takes, head straight to Flo and choose a mat towards the back.

Don't be nervous. There's no competition at YO so you can have fun and be yourself. So you’re not yogi material? Perfect! All the more reason for you to do yoga. You will be amazed at how quickly your flexibility can improve in our heated room. If you're injured, let the teacher know and we will guide you through a safe practice session.

The room is heated to warm the muscles to help prevent injuries and to allow a deeper workout. Sweating is a side benefit because it cleanses the body and leaves a healthy glow on your skin (R.E.M.'s Shiny Happy People song playing in the background)

Yes, yes, and yes! You will find the Flo and Grow-Pro classes are challenging (that’s why so many people come back for more). These classes combine strength, flexibility, and balance to give you a total body workout. Like other forms of cardio exercise, regular practice will aid weight loss.

As a beginner, it takes about 3 classes for your body and mind to understand the postures as well as what in the world you're doing in a hot yoga class!

Hence the introductory offer class. During the next 10 classes, digestion and respiration, as well as your endocrine, lymphatic, and elimination systems will begin to work harmoniously. It will help normalise your weight if you devote yourself to regular practice (at least 3 times per week). The more often you come, the greater the benefits. Hence, the unlimited monthly and yearly package offers.

Women normally wear fitted/sports tops and bottoms. Men wear shorts with a T-shirt or sports top being optional. Please do not wear underwear as outerwear and always be decently covered (you’d be surprised). And remember, white clothing when wet reveals all.

Drink yes, eat no. Try not to eat anything at least 3 hours before class.

We recommend that you stay away from heavy and salty food at least 3 hours prior to your class. None of the compression postures will feel at all comfortable while your body’s still digesting. We recommend you drink around half a litre of water an hour before class - enough to keep you hydrated without feeling bloated. And, of course, drink 2 litres of water daily to rehydrate.

We supply mats, although you are free to bring your own. We have fresh squeeze juices on sale and you can hire a towel for RM 10 that is refundable. The lockers are free and we have filtered drinking water for free refills. Just remember to bring an empty bottle.

Free parking spots are available in front and around Jalan 24/70A in Desa Sri Hartamas.

Otherwise, there are plenty of parking spaces in the basement of Galeria Hartamas just three minutes away; you can park there all day for a flat rate of RM5.80. MAP: (Jalan 19/70a, Desa Sri Hartamas, 50480, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

Children aged 14-16 can do the full class with the consent of their parent or guardian as long as a practicing adult accompanies them.
